Default How do you maintain your weight loss?

I sometimes feel like I am depriving myself because I worry if I eat so and so I will gain all the weight back. I do indulge once in a while, but not often.

I would love ideas from others who are maintaining.

Well Michelle I'm not maintaining yet but I would be most interested in hearing what others who are have to say about this topic. I'm very concerned about maintanence. (sp?) I'm living with Gripey who has lost 70 pounds and is the early stage of it and he's really having a hard time changing his mindset. He's concerned about messing me up by eating more which he shouldn't be. But he's worried about the balance between the working out that he's grown to love and stopping the losing which he's having a hard time doing.

How do you keep it off? How do you stop when you get there? I'm skeered sarge!

I think for me its a journey just like weight loss was a journey. I've been maintaining for 7 months now. I recently STOPPED journaling on sparkspeople and counting calories. I still counted calories so that I could INCREASE to where I needed to be with healthy foods and bigger portions.

On the exercise - I still work out every day, 90 minutes a day - I'm not losing because I"m eating more. I work more on toning/sculpting and firming but I still do my cardio because its GOOD FOR me

Some days I eat less, some days more. I sometimes even (gasp) eat cookies! The next day I eat lighter. Its about balance I think. I still exercise every day and drink no less then 70oz of water.

i'd say maintain in moving your body (do Exercises) brisk walk, find time to exercise... 30 minutes a day would be enough... and have a good pick on the food you'll eat...
