Unhappy Help! I don't know what to do!!

I'm at the most I've ever weighed and am SO not happy about it!!

I tried exercising 30 min/day, 4-7 days/week for 2 months and I did not lose one single pound!! I'm not exaggerating at all...I logged it! I could just cry!! I finally gave up on that workout plan a few weeks before Christmas. I was 184.5lbs.

I just weighed myself....I'm 187.5 lbs. I have not got a clue what to do...what to try... I can't afford to just eat salad and nothing else...we're on a VERY tight budget and living in Alaska, fresh produce is ANYTHING but affordable. I removed nearly every stitch of "goodies" from the house just so I won't eat them. Dh is hiding his M&M's, but that's it around here.

I can't afford a gym membership. I think weight watchers sounds interesting, but can't afford that either. Money is reeeeeeeally tight.

We eat a lot of whole grains (bread from wheat I grind myself, oatmeal, brown rice), frozen veggies (mixed, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.), homemade soups (beans and veggies...occasionally it'll have meat in it), beans/lentils/nuts (peanut butter once or twice a week?). We do use real butter as I just won't touch margarine...other than that, no dessert or anything.

I *am* hypoglycemic, so I eat little meals about every 3 hours...it's that or have an "attack".

Help! What am I doing wrong? What do I need to change? I'm happy to stick to something if I'm getting even the smallest of results...but 2 months of work an no results is just beyond me.

Also, is anyone looking for a buddy to be accountable to? I'm online every day and would love to have someone to work with on this.

Thanks so much!!

Buddy waving her hand here . I check in here several times a day, adn will support you through your journey if you'd like. Have you tried portion control? It may not be what you are eating but how much. Even frozen veggies are good for you Avoid some of the fat in your diet and eat things lower in fat and higher in fiber.
Don't give up...it's a new year and a new beginning. I started out the same weight as you, and have lost 7 pounds in two weeks using weight watchers. I know you said your on a tight budget, so that might not work for you. You can still manage your portions and reduce fats and I think you may start to see a difference. Oh I never go back for seconds and never eat past 7 pm, it seems to work for me. Good luck {{{hugs}}}

Frugal, there's a WW forum here and one of the threads there has a link to a site that shows you how to follow the WW Flex point plan without having to pay for it. :P I'm considering giving it a try myself. You should check it out. And I'll join in on the buddies group!

Default I feel your pain - but there is hope!

I have been where you are at. I completely feel your pain. I am sorry that you are experiencing such frustration in your weight loss efforts.

First of all I would recommend consulting your physician or nurse practitioner so that she/he can eliminate any medical reasons that may be causing your difficulty in losing weight (i.e. hypothyroid, etc).

Second, I would start a food journal, either by hand or online, so that you can see if what you're eating (quality and quantity) is hindering your weight loss efforts or not.

Third, don't stop exercising. Sometimes it takes a while for your work to pay off and then all of sudden your body starts to change. The important thing is that you are developing the HABIT of exercise and this is key to long term weight loss success. If you cannot afford your gym membership anymore, consider creating a "home gym" space with a couple workout videos and cheap hand weights or an exercise band. I have found home workout videos to be very motivating because all I have to do is pop it in and FOLLOW along.

Please don't give up - I know you are frustrated, but that can be good because it means you desire CHANGE and will not be satisfied until you achieve it.

I have more ideas, things that have really worked for me at leanstrongmom.com
